Purpose

 

RFI will release an application for Iraqi students and further guidelines in the near future -- please keep checking back.  In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Criteria for Prospective Iraqi Student Applicants:

  • Completed RFI application which includes application form, personal statement, and phone interview.
  • Financial need
  • Demonstration of strong desire to return to Iraq and a commitment to helping with the reconstruction of the Iraqi state or society. 
  • Performance in secondary school along with any post-secondary school education. 

Application Process and Continued Eligibility:

  1. Complete and submit application, which includes completed application form, a list of U.S. colleges, graduate program, or recertification programs to which applicant has applied, a personal statement and interview.
  2. Upon applicant's acceptance to a college, graduate program, or recertification program, he or she must provide proof of acceptance.
  3. The granting committee will determine the number of students and distribution of financial aid.  
  4. The granting committee will meet to select scholarship recipients after the RFI application deadline.  Applications will be considered on a blind basis, in other words, the Board will not know the names of applicants upon making their decisions.
  5. Rally for Iraq, Inc. will provide scholarship funds either directly to the recipient or to the school where the recipient is planning to study.  The student will sign a mandatory contract prior to his or her reception of funds, agreeing to these terms.
  6. Rally for Iraq, Inc. will request proof of enrollment from the student as well as the school at the beginning and end of each semester.  In the case that the terms of the award are violated, Rally for Iraq, Inc. will request for the student or the school to return the award and the student will be ineligible for future consideration in the granting process.
